Enrolment Client on Windows systems.

This post presents the Aadhaar Enrolment Client (ECMP) installation
and uninstallation checklist for Windows as provided in the UIDAI
document. The checklist is intended for enrolment agencies or users
performing a first-time or fresh installation of the Aadhaar
Enrolment Client – Windows version.

🎯 Objective:
The objective of the checklist is to help the intended audience
successfully install or uninstall the Aadhaar Enrolment Client –
Windows version.
Recommended System Configuration
Before starting the installation, verify that the desktop or laptop
meets the recommended configuration mentioned in the checklist.

Installation Checklist
Complete the following checks before and during installation of the
Aadhaar Enrolment Client.

Installation & Configuration Checks
Check the Computer Configuration
Confirm the processor, RAM, HDD and dedicated USB
requirements before proceeding with the installation.
Log in with Administrator Account
Ensure that the Windows account being used is an
Administrator account as required by the checklist.
Remove Previous ECMP Version
If an earlier Aadhaar Enrolment Client version is already
installed, uninstall it before proceeding with the new
installation.
Run the Setup
Locate the setup EXE directly under the
5.AadhaarEnrolmentClient folder and
double-click it.
Create Users
Create the required Operator/Supervisor users in the
system.
Import User Credentials
Import the user credential file into the enrolment client
using ECA when required.
Register the Enrolment Client
Register the enrolment client using ECA as specified in
the checklist.
Import Registrar Certificate
Verify that the duly signed Registrar Certificate has
been imported.
Device, Driver & VDM Checks
VDM Software
Install VDM software from the
4.Dependency folder.
Scanner Driver
Install the required scanner drivers.
Laptop Camera
For laptop users, disable the integrated camera as
specified in the checklist.
🔧 Compatible VDM:
Verify the compatible VDM. If necessary, open the
dependencies folder in the Client Installation
directory, select the appropriate Vendor Devices folder and run
Setup.exe.
⚙️ Check Device Services
The checklist instructs the user to open the Windows Services
console and verify that the respective Vendor Device services
are running.
Run → services.msc
Launch Aadhaar Enrolment Client
✅ Final Installation Check
After completing the installation and device checks, launch
the Aadhaar Enrolment Client from the Windows Start menu.
Start → All Programs → UID Authority of India
→ Aadhaar Enrolment Client
Uninstallation Checklist
The UIDAI checklist specifies the following sequence for
uninstalling the Aadhaar Enrolment Client and related components.
